Climate Change

The future of energy is uncertain and in the face of it, Cass County Electric Cooperative embraces its core values: Innovation, Integrity, Accountability and Commitment to Community.

Innovation. We look to innovation to help us find the right balance of all of our energy sources. Climate change is a huge contender in the media right now, claiming stories on the front pages of newspapers and is the topic of conversations everywhere from conventions to coffee shops. It is an important issue and CCEC believes it deserves attention. Clean coal and carbon capture are undeniably a part of our industry's future and we are in favor of it. CCEC encourages it be done in a planned and responsible manner. We will get there, but we all need to work together.

Integrity. It is essential when it comes to communicating with our members and our community. We are committed to being honest and keeping our members up-to-date with all of the facts of what is going on in our industry. We encourage members to ask us questions as we want to know their concerns.

Accountability. We are accountable to our members. No matter how uncertain the future of energy is, it is our reason for being and we are committed to keep energy affordable, attainable, and plentiful.

Commitment to Community. We are part of the community and the community is part of us. This encompasses all of the above. It is CCEC's mission to keep the lights on in the communities we serve.
