Scammers targeting Cass County Electric members
From time to time, Cass County Electric Cooperative receives reports of scammers claiming to represent the company who are calling local individuals and businesses and threatening service disconnection unless immediate payment is made. These callers often make mention of an overdue utility bill and request the use of a prepaid credit or debit card for payment.
CCEC will never disconnect an account without first issuing several official notices. CCEC also does not call overdue account holders and require immediate payment over the phone. We encourage all individuals to be wary of calls like this and to contact our offices at 701.356.4400 if a call like this is received.
